Chattanooga artists and graphic designers are invited to enter Chattanooga Downtown Partnership’s Nightfall Art Contest. The winner will receive a $1,000 award and have the opportunity to make a mark on one of the area’s longest running events.
Chattanooga Downtown Partnership is providing an opportunity for artists and graphic designers, aged 16+ within the Chattanooga area, to design the artwork for the 2007 Nightfall Concert Series. Participants are asked to submit an original design that captures the essence of Nightfall. The winning artist will then incorporate their work into a poster for the event and create a logo based on the original piece.
Applications, artwork and a $10 entry fee are due by 5:00 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2007. A panel of five to seven community members will then jury the artwork in an anonymous manner and announce the winner on Friday, March 23.
The Nightfall Concert Series is a free, 17-week program held on Friday nights from 7:00 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. at Miller Plaza from the end of May through the last Friday in September. By featuring a broad spectrum of musical genres performed by superior national and international artists, this series brings crowds downtown to hear music not typically experienced through live performances in Chattanooga. A local opening act precedes each headline performance. Celebrating its 20th season.
