Chattanooga’s 1st Downtown Disc Golf Course

Chattanooga’s First Downtown Disc Golf course was installed this past week-end at Carver Recreation Center at 600 North Orchard Knob. The Chattanooga Flying Disc Club (CFDC) partnered with the Chattanooga Parks & Recreation Department and Volvo Rents on this unique community project.

The nine hole Junior Disc Golf Course features long and short tee pads which will welcome all skill levels from first timers to seasoned pros.

The course was installed completely in just one day by a group of hard working volunteers, with the help of equipment donated by Volvo Rents. The volunteers returned on Sunday to test the new facilities and their skills in the morning rain. Basic clean-up will continue, but the course is now open to the public.

The Carver recreation center is open Monday - Friday and will have loaner discs which can be checked out, by anyone wishing to try their hand at the fastest growing sport in the country. This course is free to the public and is a great addition to a nice recreation center in the historic Bushtown Community, just a few blocks east of Erlanger Hospital.

The CFDC & the city’s Parks and Recreation Department are partnering to setup an on going program to teach local children “How to Play Disc Golf” and to teach life lessons while playing Disc Golf.
