Signal Mountain High School Junior Hannah Tumlin, daughter of Dr. James and Janet Tumlin, was recently selected for the East Tennessee Honors Choir. Miss Tumlin is the SMHS Drama Club President, a ten-year veteran theater student, and has published a poem & essay. Hannah is a second year choral student, but this was her first competitive singing experience. “Counting out my music was the hardest part of getting ready,” said Hannah.
“Figuring out the rhythm and how fast you should go is a critical part of the competition.” Hannah became interested in singing through her acting and thinks both really go well together. She enjoys the competitive nature of the choral competition and meeting other singers. “If you love to sing and have a passion for it then this is a way to see how far you can go,” said Hannah.
You can see Hannah and the other members of the Signal Mountain Choirs and Bands perform during the Christmas on the Mountain Concert, December 16th at the Tivoli theater.
