Ten community teams competed in the cookoff, and the winners were:
1st Place Traditional Chili ($200 cash prize) - The Chili Millies
1st Place Non- Traditional ($200 cash prize) - Signal Mountain Christian School
2nd Place Overall ($75 plus Lodge cast iron set) -
Girl Scout Troop #25

The following celebrities competed in a separate cookoff, raising money for their own favorite charities:
Annette Allen of the Signal Mountain Town Council raising money for the Mountain Stewards
Elizabeth Akins of the Walden Town Council raising money for WRES
Lisa Huskey from SMMHS raising money for Muscular Dystrophy Foundation
Mrs. Bernie Johnson from Nolan Elementary raising money for the Ronald McDonald House
Officer Hill raising money for the DARE program
The celebrities spent the day visiting with local residents and "selling" their favorite . In the end, Mrs. Bernie raised the most cash for the Ronald McDonald House and won the celebrity cookoff.
In addition to great food, Bachman offered live music from Eddies of the Wind and Mountain Cove, and a kids' area with face painting, inflatables, and crafts. In the end, it turned out to be a beautiful day and a prefect opportunity for the community to join in a little healthy competition while raising much-needed funds for their local community center.
