Floyd named Secretary of Conservation and Environment Committee

Representative Richard Floyd (R-Chattanooga) has been named as Secretary of the Conservation and Environment Committee, and Vice-Chair of the Parks Subcommittee for the 106th General Assembly. The Conservation and Environment Committee deals with legislation concerning energy, flood and drainage products, game and fish laws, strip mining and mineral resources, industries affecting natural resources, and parks and recreation. He will also serve as the Vice-Chairman of the Parks Subcommittee.
“I am honored to have been named as Secretary to the Conservation and Environment Committee,” said Representative Floyd. ”Being from Chattanooga, one of the most beautiful and unique landscapes in the state, I look forward to working diligently on these issues which can protect the beauty we have inherited.”
Representative Floyd was also appointed to serve on the Transportation Committee, which reviews legislation relating to highways and roads, safety regulations, and motor vehicles.
“I am pleased that my Republican Leader, Jason Mumpower, worked to place me on these committees,” he added. “I look forward to beginning our work and passing positive legislation for the people of this state.”
Richard Floyd is serving his second term in the legislature. He lives in Chattanooga with his wife and three children.
