The giant screen at the Tennessee Aquarium IMAX® Theater will fill with some of the most colorful and unusual marine life ever seen in 3D on Friday, February 13 with the debut of Under the Sea 3D. Audiences will plunge into the crystal clear domains of a rich collection of underwater dwellers, including the leafy sea dragon, flamboyant cuttlefish, playful sea lions and fierce looking great white sharks.
Under the Sea 3D, a new IMAX® 3D adventure, transports moviegoers to some of the most exotic and isolated undersea locations on Earth, including South Australia, the Great Barrier Reef, and the Coral Triangle islands of Papua New Guinea and Indonesia, allowing them to experience face-to-face encounters with some of the most mysterious and stunning creatures of the sea. It offers a uniquely inspirational and entertaining way to explore the beauty and natural wonder of the oceans, as well as the impact of global climate change upon them. In IMAX® 3D, these underwater images will literally leap off the screen and float around the theatre, putting the audience in the movie.
Comic actor Jim Carey lends his talent to this film leading audiences on this magical undersea adventure. “Jim Carrey is a favorite of film audiences everywhere and of every generation, so he is the perfect choice to narrate this undersea adventure for moviegoers of all ages. We are also very proud to be working with IMAX® to bring audiences this visually stunning film that reminds us all of the beauty and magic of our oceans, and the importance of preserving them for future generations,” said Dan Fellman, President, domestic distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.
“Part of what our IMAX® films are designed to do is create a sense of value for the animals and for the environment,” said director Howard Hall. “We hope people will come to know and love these animals when they experience their world through the extraordinary image quality of IMAX® 3D. Most people will not have heard of these creatures.”
