LONE OAK FCE CLUB MEMBERS RECEIVE MANY AWARDS

Several Lone Oak FCE Club members received awards at the Sequatchie County Family Community Education countywide awards dinner on Tuesday, February 21.
The Lone Oak Club received the Master Club Award for the fourth year. There are requirements for being a Master Club some of these are, project leaders reports presented during the club year, complete at lease one definite project in the field of community service during the club year, have at least eleven monthly meetings promptly on time, have at least one representative at each county council meeting as listed in the calendar of events, have at lease 5 book reports given at club meetings during the year.

Joel Bullock, Helen Cooper, Ruth Robinson and Pauline Geary all received an award for one hundred percent attendance. Eleven monthly meetings are required and the Lone Oak Club meets twelve times each year plus attending the other activities in the county.

Those receiving reading certificates were Sonia Bible, Joel Bullock, Helen Cooper, Pauline Geary, Betty Batterbury, Mary Ragan, Dorothy Nichols and Ruth Robinson. To receive a certificate in reading the members have to read 5 books each book being in a different category. Book reviews are given during the monthly meetings of the club. Helen Cooper and Pauline Geary received blue ribbon member certificates. To be a blue ribbon member the requirements are 100 points obtained from doing different activities during the club year.

Certified Volunteer Unit (volunteer hour) certificates were received by Ruth Robinson, Carla Merrell, Georgia Hamilton, Pauline Geary, Rachel Merrell, Tommye Byington, Mayrelou Stamps, Helen Cooper, Dorothy Nichols and Joel Bullock. To qualify for these certificates the club members have to keep a list of their volunteer hours and turn in each club year.

A certificate for the top Sequatchie County Community Birthday Calendar sales was received by Pauline Geary selling 101 calendars. The Lone Oak Club meets the fourth Monday of each month at 12:00 Noon est. at the Lone Oak Community Center. For more information call or .
