The Tennessee Chapter of the Sierra Club has announced its endorsement of Paul M. Hendricks for Signal Mountain Town Council. In a letter to the candidate, Club spokespersons Bill Terry and Penny Brooks stated "the endorsement is offered to you as a result of your leadership and participation in environmental issues in the State of Tennessee. As an active Sierra Club member you have given of your time and effort to preserve the environment of Tennessee. We endorse you for local public office knowing that you will continue these efforts in Signal Mountain".
Dr. Hendricks responded "I am honored by this endorsement. This affirms my commitment to conservation of our natural environment. The citizens of Signal Mountain have clearly expressed a vision for their community that respects its natural beauty and protects its natural resources. This will be a primary guiding principle for me in leading Signal Mountain forward if I am chosen to serve on its Town Council".
