Put some Ho Ho Ho in your Holiday

By Contributed Article

Calling all elves, young and old! It’s almost that time of year again. Signal Mountain Social Services is gearing up for its community-wide effort of bringing Christmas to families in need on Signal Mountain. The agency invites you to help pack boxes of groceries and gifts on Saturday, December 9th at 9:00 am at Nolan Elementary School. Volunteers are also needed to make deliveries. Strong arms and a roomy car are helpful when making deliveries to families on the mountain. “We really cannot do this project without major volunteer support,” reports Lara Caughman, Director of Signal Mountain Social Services. “For everything to go smoothly, we need about 200 volunteers to help pack and deliver,” said Caughman, “It’s really a lot of fun!”

Many families have made this event a holiday tradition. Won’t you? The project will provide Christmas for approximately 70 families. This is truly a hands-on project that brings a lot of joy to those giving and receiving. Consider becoming an elf on December 9 and participating in this festive event. You’ll be glad you did!
