Wayside Presbyterian Hosts Concert

By Contributed Article

Mr. David Friberg
Wayside Presbyterian Church, 2502 Fairmount Pike, in Walden, is please to invite the Signal Mountain/Walden community to a Christmas concert on December 17, at 7 PM. The featured artist is Professor David Friberg of Covenant College. Mr. Friberg is also the organist at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church.

Mr. David Friberg earned his M.A. and B.A. at Bob Jones University, and has been Associate Professor of Music at Covenant College since 1988. He is also the accompanist for the Chattanooga Choral Arts Society. For our concert on December 17, Mr. Friberg has chosen a program of classical and Christmas music that will fully utilize the resources of Wayside's fine pipe organ. The organ at Wayside consists of fifteen ranks of pipes. The organ was donated to Wayside by Mrs. George Cannon. The late Dr. Cannon had constructed the organ in his residence on Signal Mountain. Barger and Nix Organs of McDonald, Tennessee, extensively revised and rebuilt the organ to make it suitable for our church setting. The public is invited to stay after the concert for refreshments and to meet Mr. Friberg.
