Home construction with icing for mortar, candy cane columns and gumdrop accents can only mean one thing: It's time to make gingerbread houses for the holidays!
Creative Discovery Museum is now accepting reservations for gingerbread house workshops. Participants will create their very own gingerbread house. Workshops will be held at Creative Discovery Museum downtown and at the Science Theatre at Northgate Mall.
"We get a lot of interest in our gingerbread workshops," said Lynne Mulligan, Creative Discovery Museum Programs Manager. "Everyone loves a gingerbread house, and these workshops are a fun holiday activity for parents and kids to work on together."
The cost per house is $25 for members and $30 for non-members. Up to three people can work on one house. Museum admission and the workshop fee are completely separate. It is not necessary to purchase Museum admission in order to take the workshop.
Workshops will be held at Creative Discovery Museum are Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Nov. 17 and 24, Dec. 1, 8 and 15 and Sundays at 2 p.m. on Nov. 18 and 25, Dec. 2, 9 and 16. Call or to make reservations. Creative Discovery Museum is located at 321 Chestnut Street in downtown Chattanooga.
Workshops will be held at the Creative Discovery Museum Science Theatre at Northgate Mall on Thursday, Dec. 13 and Thursday, Dec. 20 from 4-5:30 p.m. Call to register. The Science Theatre is located inside Northgate Mall in Hixson, Tennessee off Highway 153 between I-75 and US-27. The entrance is at the back of the mall, between Belk and JC Penney.
