Signal Mountain Tackle Football, Inc.(a non profit organization) has inked a 10 year agreement with Hamilton County to manage and maintain Robinson Field, a regulation soccer and football field located behind Thrasher Elementary School.
Signal Mountain Tackle Football, Inc. has been in negotiations with the City of Signal Mountain since last August to try and find a place for their 80+ kids to play and practice tackle football. During the negotiations both sides have worked hard to try to make a decision on availability and physical property to practice on. On final review, both parties have realized that there is no room and no facilities that can facilitate Tackle Football on the present properties managed by the City of Signal Mountain.
Signal Mountain Tackle Football, Inc.(SMTF) has secured funds to build a sports complex for the use of the Tackle Football League. SMTF has begun renovations with the installation of Football Goal Posts, complete renovation of the field playing surfaces, installation of Tackle Football Training Equipment, construction of a new field house and concession stands-with the help of the Coke Company. SMTF will be involving the community and our business partners in town, if interested in advertising at the complex please call Terry Barton at .
SMTF is projecting the sports complex will be ready for the upcoming football season which will start the year with a new spring training camp that will run from April 3rd to April 7th. SMTF will be having “Introduction to Tackle Football” and “Advanced Tackle Football” for both new players to the league and seasoned players, kids from grades 2 through 5th are welcome. For more information please contact Todd Faulk at , and Taylor Gill at 423- . Or go to the SMTF web site www.signalmountaintacklefootball.com.
Signal Mountain Tackle Football, Inc. will be opening the sports complex this fall and has taken the stand to try and help local sports programs that may not have a place to practice or play. SMTF also wants to provide a world class playing field for the kids at Thrasher Elementary to enjoy. In order to facilitate the City of Signal Mountain and some of their sports teams that may not have a practice field, SMTF will have field space for a maintenance fee, during non football practice or game times. For information on field space and maintenance fee’s please contact Buddy Hulgan at .
