SCENIC LAND SCHOOL STUDENTS TO PRESENT A MAY POLE DANCE

By
Academic Dean/Assistant Head of School

The Manor House has extended an invitation to Scenic Land School for a celebration of spring on Tuesday, May 09, 2006 at 10:30 am. Scenic Land students will join Manor House residents to celebrate the beauty of the season and a tradition-rich spring dance.

A group of Scenic Land students has been practicing the ribbon weaving dance, one which looks deceptively simple and is a visual pleasure for observers. Other students will visit with the residents and keep them company during the event while others will be dropping baskets of fresh spring flowers at the residents’ doorsteps.

The two neighbors, located in Chattanooga on Mountain Creek Road at the base of Signal Mountain, serve the Chattanooga area. One is a scenically-located assisted living community, and the other is a day school for children who successfully learn differently due to dyslexia, ADD/ADHD or other learning challenges. The Manor House and Scenic Land enjoy a strong inter-generational relationship, with residents and students frequently sharing time and events together throughout each year.

Even though Scenic Land School will relocate this summer, the school is only moving to the other side of the Manor House, to the Four Squares Mall on Mountain Creek Road. The enjoyable and rewarding relationship established between the two neighbors is certain to continue.

Scenic Land is a private day school for students in grades K-8 with dyslexia, AD/HD and other learning differences.
