The Welcome Mat - Signal Mountain Newcomers March Newsletter

By
Newcomers Newsletter Editor

Message from the Co-Directors

I hope we have all found renewed energy through the wonderful yoga techniques Sue Reynolds showed us at last month’s meeting. Now we can channel all that energy into planning our Spring Auction.

The Fundraising Committee has been utilizing their creative geniuses to make this year’s Spring Auction an exciting one. But it is the unique talents each and every Newcomer member has to offer that will help to make this year’s auction a huge success. The Fundraising Committee will be contacting you shortly to tap into your talent.

Meanwhile, join us on Tuesday, March 5 at 10 a.m. as Ward Petty from A.G. Edwards talks to us on what women should know about their finances. The more we know, the more prepared we will be!

Looking forward to seeing you on March 5!

Vicki Love, and Dominique Gable,

The Next Newcomers Meeting is March 5, 10:00 a.m. at the Bachman Community Center! Board Members meet at 9:15.

BABYSITTING
Babysitting is available during our monthly meetings/ luncheon from 9:30a.m. – 1:30 p.m. for $3/hr for one child and $1/hr for each additional child (cash only please). Signal Mountain Baptist Church graciously allows us to use their nursery but requires that all children be able to walk (infants and pre-walkers are welcome at the meeting). Make reservations by calling Arlina Hensley () by the Friday before the meeting. To ensure that the nursery is adequately staffed for your child’s safety, reservations are required. You may call later to see if openings are still available. Remember to bring drinks, snacks, and lunch for your child if you will be attending the luncheon.

More volunteer opportunities. . .
The Signal Mountain Guild’s Dogwood Luncheon is April 24th, and is the Guild's biggest fund -raiser of the year. This is such a popular event, and the 2002 program promises to be no exception: a delicious luncheon; a fashion show by Three Sisters of April; Rev. Rebecca Foote as Guest Speaker; and door prizes for nearly every attendee. The Luncheon has been well -attended by Newcomers for the past four years, and we want to continue that tradition. Therefore, Vicki Love will obtain reservations (and pre-pay) for two tables (16 places). Those who are interested in attending must call her as soon as possible. Ticket prices will be announced and probably will not exceed $15. Reservations are firm commitments. If you cannot attend, please find a replacement. Don't miss a delightful afternoon; call Vicki today ().

We need volunteers to assist with the Alexian Auxiliary’s St. Patricks Day Luncheon scheduled for March 20. Kitchen prep is Tues. March 19th, and servers AND kitchen help are needed for March 20th. The entire event takes place at the St. Augustine Church here on Signal. Everyone has a wonderful time with this project, so don’t miss out on the fun!!
