Signal Mountain Town Councilmembers Sworn In

Swearing in Ceremony at Town Hall
The Town of Signal Mountain celebrated the election of Lizetta Paturlaski, Bob Linehart, and the re-election of Councilmember Steve Ruffin at the swearing in ceremony on Saturday, November 6, 2004, at the Town Hall.

Greeting everyone was former mayor, Jim Althaus who was accompanied by his wife Jo. Mayor Althaus said that he was asked to open this ceremony as the last action of an official capacity. Proud of the Town of Signal Mountain he congratulated each of the newly elected candidates saying, “Nice going everyone.” He then introduced the town attorney, Phil Noblett.

Mr. Noblett, explained the purpose of the swearing in accordance to the Town charter and introduced Judge Robert M. Summitt, retired who presided over the swearing in. Judge Summit is “Uncle Bob” to Vice-mayor and Councilmember Bill Leonard who was also present at the ceremony.

The judge called up Lizetta Paturlaski, then Bob Linehart, and finally Steve Ruffin all of whom pledged to serve the Town of Signal Mountain. Each thanked their families many of whom were present as well as expressed their hearty anticipation of serving on the Town Council.

Host for the ceremony was the Town of Signal Mountain. Town manager Hershel Dick and town recorder Diana Campbell along with Jane Wilson and Sherry Morrison provided a reception at the close of the ceremony, which was enjoyed by all present.
