The Signal Mountain Town Council met at 2:00 pm, Friday, May 12, at the Town Hall. The purpose of the meeting was to consider the second reading of the amendments to the zoning ordinance for Shackleford Ridge. This was deferred from the Regular Town Council meeting on May 8.
After brief comments and a suggestion from Mayor Leonard, the decision was made to hold a special informational meeting for all citizens prior to voting on the proposed amendents. This would allow the landowners and developers to present their plans and vision for the area being considered. Also members of the Town Planning Commission and representatives of the Regional Planning Authority and WWTA (Waste Water Treatment Authority) will be present to answer questions about the proposed ordinance.
The meeting will be held at the Gym next to the Town Hall on Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at 7:00 pm. The Town Council encourages all residents of the mountaintop to attend this very important meeting.
